Administrator: Adding ShareThis to Posts

By: Wednesday, December 1, 2010
As an Administrator, you can incorporate the ShareThis button with the posts on your network to encourage social sharing.  To add this sharing tool, you will need to create the ShareThis button and then email the generated code to the Compendium Product Support Team at help@compendium.com who will add this code to your network’s template.
  1. Go to www.sharethis.com

  2. In the top navigation, click ‘Get the Button’ link to walk through the 3 step setup process
  3. In step 1 of the setup process, click the ‘Any Website’ option

  4. In step 2, select the style of button you wish to implement.  The styling section will dynamically update based on the type of button you select.

  5. In step 3, select a sharing style - either Oath or Classic.
  6. Click 'Get the Button'

  7. Fill out the registration form fields.  In the domain field, enter the URL to your network (for example: blog.companyname.com).  Upon completion of all the fields in the registration form, click on the ‘Register’ button.

  8. Copy and paste both fields of code into a Notepad file and then email the .txt file to help@compendium.com
    Email this Code to help@compendium.com
