Important:
In order for your blogs to appear at your domain, your domain administrator / domain host must create the domain or subdomain, and direct the CNAME Record to www.compendiumblog.com.
Please forward these Instructions on to them. If you manage your own DNS records through your registrar, you can find step-by-step instructions on how to make this change by visiting our "Creating Your CNAME Record" blog post. This post links to individual documents for some of the top registrars.
Instructions to Complete the CNAME Record Set-up:
FAQs and Common Challenges:
FAQ: I cannot set my CNAME Record to a domain, it has to be to an IP Address.
Resolution: You can point your CNAME Record to a domain, this is how we manage content. By pointing to our domain, we are able to host your blog and tie into our network of Servers and Databases used to support the platform.
FAQ: How does my content populate my blogs?
Resolution: Our Complex Structure of Databases ensure that the Content Applicable to your network is populated into your appropriate subdomain
Challenge: The subdomain is set an A Record rather than a CNAME Record
What happens in a browser: No page will resolve when the URL is typed into a browser
What happens in verification: You will receive a notification in the verification step that the subdomain has been set to an A Record and will be highlighted in red
