Featured images are used to set the thumbnail (through the
Open Graph protocol)
on social sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn.
Please note: If the
featured image is not set, the first image in a post will be used
when sharing to social sites. If a post lacks any images, the
network's
Default Image for Social Sharing will be used (your blog
Administrator controls the default image).
As an Administrator, you have the ability to set a featured
image for your network. Featured images are used to set the
thumbnail (through the Open Graph protocol) on social sites such as Facebook
and LinkedIn.
Please note:
If the featured image is not set, the first image in a post will be
used when sharing to social sites. If a post lacks any images, your
network's
Default Image for Social Sharing will be used.
Some clients prefer to display their Compendium content from a
subfolder on their own domain (ex. http://www.compendium.com/blog)
instead of a subdomain (ex. http://blog.compendium.com). This type
of setup is called 'reverse proxy'.
A reverse proxy setup takes requests for a subfolder on your
site (for example: /blog) and forwards the request to
Compendium.
Before you can access your content via reverse proxy, you will
need to do two things:
If ExactTarget is your email provider, you can now utilize
Compendium to push your blog content into ExactTarget. Before you
can begin this feature must be activiated in your account. In
order for this to be activated you'll need to contact either your
Account Manager or help@compendium.com.
There are 2 things you will need in order to to use this
feature:
ExactTarget API Credentials: The
username/password combination will be the credentials used to
authenticate with ExactTarget's SOAP API. ...
Once every 60 days when you log in to the Compendium
application, you will receive a one question survey asking how
likely you are to recommend Compendium. Once you select a numerical
rating, you will be taken to the text editor.
We always appreciate your feedback on our platform and this is
one of our ways to collect this feedback. If you have other
questions or platform suggestions, feel free to email help@compendium.com and we will
bring the ideas to our VP of Product.
As an Administrator, you have the ability to add tracking to a
link or PDF within a post. This tracking will show in your
network's Google Analytics account.
As an Administrator, you have the ability to assign all of an
Author's posts to appear on a manual category page.
Example: John
Smith and Jane Doe work in the Marketing department and one of your
network's manual categories is 'Marketing Tips.' By assigning their
accounts to that category, all of their content will automatically
appear there.
As an Administrator, you have the ability to require alt text to
be used for images uploaded into posts across your network.
Alternative (alt) text is descriptive text associated with an image
that will display if the image doesn't load. Including alt text
also allows search engines to 'see' what the image is.
Please note:
Authors can always add alt text to images regardless of the
network setting. Requiring it is turned off by default.
As an Administrator, you have the ability to hide the manual
category checkboxes from Authors. Hiding the manual categories
allows only the Administrator to be able to designate posts to
appear on these pages.
Please note:
Authors have the ability to designate manual categories for
posts by default.
The Compendium Account Management team is committed to making
sure all clients are getting the most out of the Compendium
application. Once a month, we will host a "Compendium Feature
Thursday Webinar" in which new features, helpful tips and best
practices will be discussed to help clients navigate their way
through the platform. In this session, Allison Bowen walks clients
through the new social sharing features, the assign a post feature,
and the content calendar.
